Biological wastewater treatment is a process that uses natural processes to help with the decomposition of organic substances. It relays on bacteria to break down organic wastes using normal cellular processes. Wastewater typically contains a buffet of organic matter, such as garbage, wastes, and partially digested foods. It may also contain pathogenic organisms, heavy metals, and toxins. Biological treatment is used worldwide because it’s effective and more economical than many mechanical or chemical processes.

Biosfera uses HFSAF technology to achieve a very effective and efficient water treatment system whilst keeping energy and operational costs at a minimum.

Key features of the Process include minimal retention time and maximum water extraction resulting in large volume through-put and reduced sludge volume. Due to the efficiency of the Process, the physical volume taken up by the plant is minimised. There is no competing system on the market that is comparable in terms of through-put for any given size water treatment system.
